We’re used to organizing shows and playing concerts at the very last minute—often with people we have to connect with right away, if we can. Because playing music together is also about that: creating an immediate and deep connection. That’s why I feel truly lucky to have made my debut at Smalls yesterday with my brother @alan_bartus_ ; with @emanuele_basentini a standout artist in the scene where I grew up, who deeply influenced my formative years in jazz and has left a strong mark on the language of jazz guitar; with @kcolinabass , a person of great depth and sensitivity before being a Bassist with a capital B, to whom I’m truly grateful for the opportunity; and with @ilyalushtak , who joined us last night. Everything felt so natural and harmonious—and that’s exactly why. Thank you so much to @spikewilner and everyone who was there. We’ll see each other again very soon, somewhere around here!
